GASTONIA, N.C. -- Authorities in Gastonia are looking for a man who they say slashed the tires on a vehicle outside a hardware store in late December.

On December 22, a Gastonia man reported finding two tires on his Ford Econoline slashed after shopping at Harbor Freight Tools in the 2600 block of Franklin Boulevard.

The suspect, who was captured on surveillance footage, is described as a heavy set white male wearing a long-sleeve black t-shirt or sweatshirt with the Harley-Davidson logo. Police say he drove away from the scene in a Lincoln Navigator.

The damages to the man's vehicle totaled $300.

If you have any information on the suspect or his whereabouts, please contact Detective Dave Wind at (704) 836-0071 or Gaston County CrimeStoppers at (704) 861-8000.
