The Rowan County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit received information that 27-year-old Labryan Dion Hawkins was in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine, and was actively involved in distribution.
Investigators, with the assistance of the Salisbury Police Department, located and apprehended Hawkins in a business parking lot at the intersection of Highway 150 and Jake Alexander Boulevard.
He was inside his parked vehicle, police say.
A search of Hawkins' vehicle turned up three grams of crack cocaine, found on the driver's side floorboard, officials say.
Authorities also seized more than $2,000 in cash found on Hawkins' person.
Hawkins was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, maintain a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear, driving while license revoked and habitual felon.
The Sheriff's Office says Hawkins has nine felony drug convictions from 2007 to 2012.
