CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Jian Ge lived in Charlotte for just two weeks before his car was stolen.

But it's what was inside the car that is such a devastating loss for the immigrant from China.

Ge’s car was stolen by two men who tried to sell it for scrap metal. An employee at the scrap metal yard checked the vehicle identification number and realized the car was stolen. He notified police who arrested Leon Alston and William Clifton.

Ge was able to get his car back, but quickly realized that his green card, passport and credit cards were all gone.

This has hampered Gen’s chance to find a job in the Charlotte area.  If anyone has information on this incident they’re asked to call Charlotte-Mecklenburg police at 704-336-7600.
