IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- The Iredell County Sheriff's Office arrested an Indiana man and charged him in connection with a several-month-long child sex investigation.
39-year-old Brett Jason White, of Lowell, Indiana, a previous resident of Iredell County, was booked in to the Iredell County Detention Center under a $200,000 bond earlier this week.
White is accused of sexually assaulting a now 15-year-old girl when she was just 14.
Authorities contacted White several times and say attempts to get him to return to North Carolina were unsuccessful. That led the Iredell County Sheriff's Office to get the U.S. Marshals Service involved.
White was entered as a wanted person, and the warrants were turned over to the Fugitive Task Force.
Saturday, White was charged with four counts of statutory rape and one count of indecent liberties with a child.
