IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. – Officers seized what they say is high-grade marijuana from a home in Iredell County on Monday.

Adam Robert Jackson, 22, of Hiddenite was arrested when detectives say they found a large, high-grade pot operation in a hidden room in his house.

The room had “scores of mature plants as well as extensive quantities of dried marijuana packaged to sell,” according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say Jackson was selling the marijuana to various sources across the western part of North Carolina.

“Normal ‘street’ quality marijuana typically sells for $5 per gram; however the type of marijuana Jackson was producing contains higher levels of tetrahydrocannabinol, the primary intoxicant in marijuana, and sells for $25 per gram,” officials said in a statement.

Jackson is charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to sell/distribute and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances.

He is being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond.  Other arrests are anticipated, investigators say.
