LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a man.
The man in the photo is accused of cashing counterfeit checks throughout the county. Investigators say four counterfeit checks amounting to approximately $2,000 were cashed in Denver, Concord, and Charlotte between August 13, 2013 and August 18, 2013.
According to law enforcement, the checks were written on an account for Willis Plumbing Company out of Vale, NC.
The company exists; the owner reported the thefts after discovering that a payment he’d placed in his home mailbox was never received by the vendor it was made out to.
