CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. -- An investigation into a woman police call a longtime local drug dealer has come to a close, says the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Lisa McCreary Durant, 48, after executing a search warrant at her home in the 4400 block of Summer Way in Lenoir on Tuesday.
Durant faces a range of new felony drug charges following. Police say began investigating her ten months ago for complaints of selling marijuana and prescription pills. Detectives say with the help of a confidential informant, they managed to make controlled purchases of illegal narcotics from Durant at her house.
Since the investigation began, the sheriff’s office says officers seized 228 Hydrocodone pills, 115 Alprazolam pills, five Oxycodone pills, 15 Endocet pills, 194 grams of marijuana, one marijuana plant, $1,900 in cash, a surveillance camera, digital weighing scales, packaging materials and other drug paraphernalia. The drugs have a street value of $6,040, according to North Carolina State Guidelines.
Durant is charged with eight drug-related felonies. She was booked into the Caldwell County Detention Center on a $100,000 secured bond. Durant was already convicted three times for drugs prior to this.
Police arrested a second suspect while searching Durant’s home. Jessica Kincaid, 29, was taken into custody for controlled substance violations.
