STATESVILLE, N.C. -- The Iredell County Sheriff's Office arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting three girls over a seven year period.
Deputies charged Jeffery Davis Young, 38, with 17 counts of first degree sexual offense in the assaults against the three victims.
Authorities were able to identify Young as the suspect after a detailed investigation to the alleged reports, according to the sheriff's office.
Young had been charged with statutory rape in 1998 by the Mooresville Police Department and also charged in 2007 with first degree rape, indecent liberties and first degree kidnapping, but these cases were dismissed, according to the police report.
Deputies said Young was arrested late last month by the the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Squad. Young is being held at the Iredell County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond.
