BOONE, N.C. -- A Lenoir man is accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman at a Boone elderly care facility on Thursday.
Boone police charged 60-year-old Michael Horton with sexual battery after workers at the Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation reported the incident.
According to the police report, workers called police after Horton was caught committing sexual acts against a woman at the facility.
Horton was at the facility visiting a relative when the incident took place, according to the police report.
He is being held at the Watauga County Detention Center under a $4,000 secured bond.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and additional charges are possible, police said.
