CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. -- A man robbed a Burger King safe at gunpoint, according to the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say David Lee Cunningham threw a rock into a window just before midnight Thursday at the restaurant on JA Cochran Bypass.

Cunningham, 38, allegedly forced an employee to help him with the safe, while pushing the other into the refrigerator. He then fled on foot through neighboring yards.

Investigators and K-9’s tried arrived to track the suspect. Officers pulled over a vehicle soon after that stopped where the K-9 led them to. They then arrested Cunningham.

He was booked into jail for armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
