GASTONIA, N.C. -- Police say a person handed a cashier at a Gastonia drug store a note stating they would be shot if the cashier didn't hand over Oxycontin.
Around 6 o'clock Monday night, Gastonia Police arrested James Ranelin Mayberry for the robbery of the Moss Drug Store in the 700 block of West Franklin Boulevard.
According to police, Mayberry walked into the store and handed the cashier a note demanding Oxycontin. The note also said not to call police, or the cashier would be shot, officials say.
The cashier put three bottles of the drug on the counter, but Mayberry only took two, police say.
Mayberry is charged with robbery of a business. His bond is set at $25,000.
