CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested a man after he was caught breaking into a vehicle.
The break-in happened on Chipley Avenue. According to police, the victim called authorities after witnessing 32-year-old Travis McNair inside of his truck that was parked outside his home.
Police said the victim detained McNair until authorities arrived. Investigators noticed the passenger side of the window was broken, and it appeared that McNair was trying to take a bag of tools from the vehicle.
In a press release sent to NewsChannel 36, officials said “McNair has an extensive arrest history in Mecklenburg County on charges that have included in part: assault, possession of a firearm by felon, and breaking and entering.”
McNair was charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and larceny.
