GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- A Greenville County jury has convicted a man in the shooting death of a restaurant employee nearly six years ago.
A jury on Thursday convicted Korey Love of murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon in the January 2007 shooting death of Marvelin Bass.
Love was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
Love testified Wednesday that he was not at the fast food restaurant the night Bass was killed.
Love's co-defendant, 23-year-old Eric Ransom, testified against him. Ransom has pleaded guilty to robbing Bass outside the restaurant before he was shot.
Prosecutor Bryna Seay says Ransom faces up to 20 years in prison. Defense attorney Fletcher Smith pointed out that Ransom expects murder charges against him to be dropped in exchange for his testimony.
