CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are looking for the person who shot and killed a man in east Charlotte late Sunday night.
Officers said they responded to a call that a man had fallen down the stairs at the Ashley Place apartment complex in the 6600 block of Idlewild Road.
When police arrived they found Olman Lainez Cruz, 36, dead from a gunshot wound at the bottom of the stairwell.
Police have not released the victim’s name or said if they have a suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
