LENOIR, N.C. -- The Lenoir Police Department's Narcotics division made a drug bust on Tuesday afternoon that allegedly involved a motel manager.

The narcotics unit served a search warrant at the Day's Inn motel on Blowing Rock Boulevard in Monroe Tuesday afternoon after receiving complaints from the community.

When officers approached the room, they say the motel's manager, Urmil Patel, was exiting the room.

Inside, officers found and seized seven grams of crack cocaine, 12 grams of marijuana, nine Oxycodone pills and $2000 in cash.

Authorities say Jerry Lindsey had been renting the room at the motel to sell narcotics, and that the Patel was in on the scheme.

Lindsey and Patel are each charged with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, trafficking heroin or opium by possession and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
