CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are on the lookout for a man who cut off his electronic monitoring device on Monday.

Police said Anthony McCreary cut off his electronic monitoring device and was last seen near Kimberly Glenn Lane.

McCreary is wanted by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team on outstanding warrants for possession of a firearm by a felon, assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury, and interfering with an electronic monitoring device.

McCreary was ordered to wear a CMPD electronic monitor as a condition of his release from jail on September 15, 2012.

McCreary is the third offender monitored by CMPD to cut a monitor off in 2013. The first two offenders have been arrested.
