CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police are searching for a man who tried to lure a 12-year-old into his truck on two separate occasions in northeast Charlotte earlier this week.

A Caucasian man in his 30’s driving a red pick-up truck tried to get the 12-year-old into his vehicle at the intersection of Mayer House Court and Rozzelles Ferry Road on Sunday and then again on Monday, police said.

“In both instances, the child fled on foot and no contact with the suspect was made.  Yesterday, a geo-notification was released to the surrounding area to alert residents,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said in a statement.

Police have increased patrols in the area and ask the public to call 911 if they see the suspect or anything else suspicious.
