A gravedigger who is suspected of murdering his wife and burying her in a Virginia cemetery was arrested in Charlotte Thursday.

U.S.Marshals apprehended Adan Quiroz Rodriguez, 30, in the 14000 block of Eggleston Road and charged him with murdering his wife Ashley Rodriguez.

The Alleghany County (Va.) Sheriff’s Office began investigating the disappearance of Ashley Rodriguez on May 13 after she didn’t show up to work, according to a news release.

Investigators received information that led them to Alleghany Memorial Park, the cemetery where they found the remains of Ashley Rodriguez.

She was buried in a remote area of the cemetery only accessible to employees and staff. Investigators said husband Adan Rodriguez, who worked at the cemetery, shot and killed her before burying her there.

Rodriquez was in the Mecklenburg County jail awaiting extradition to Virginia.
