LENOIR, N.C. -- The Lenoir Police Department made two arrest in connection to a drug deal.

Detectives say on Thursday, they received a tip that a man and woman were in a 1994 Chevrolet Lumina in a shopping center parking lot ready to complete a drug deal.

Authorities collected a total of 39 units of Oxymorphone and $590 in cash. Kenneth Daye II, 47, and Tammie Day, 50, were arrested. Police tell NewsChannel 36 the pair is married. Both were placed in the Caldwell County Detention Center.

They face a slew of charges including, trafficking heroin or opium. They’re being held under a $10,000 secured bond.
