CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Mecklenburg County detention officer is accused of sexually exploiting a minor, according to police.
Clinton Williams Jr. was arrested on Thursday after the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Cyber Crimes and Youth Crimes Units executed a search warrant at his home and found digital evidence of child pornography.
Williams has been charged with four counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor and is in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Williams is currently employed by the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Department as a detention officer and has been employed with them for 9 years, police said.
The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office has been notified of the arrest and is fully cooperating in the investigation.
This is the second arrest made by the Youth Crimes and Cyber Crimes Units in the past two weeks related to child exploitation., police said.
Detectives also executed a search warrant on August 15th in the Metro Division and arrested Gregoro Gonzolas after locating child pornography on his computer.
Gonzolas was arrested and charged with three counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He is also currently in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
