CONOVER, N.C. – Police in a North Carolina town believe a man is responsible for a murder in Michigan.
The body of 42-year-old Donna Frost was found under a rug inside a hole in the ground in Western Michigan late Sunday night. Her boyfriend, Jackie McConnell, was arrested Sunday night in Conover, N.C.
The 47-year-old McConnell was arraigned and waived extradition to Michigan on Monday morning.
McConnell and Frost, who had been dating about eight months, were last seen in Albion, Michigan just over a week ago. Frost’s family alerted police about her disappearance. They made contact with one of McConnell’s relatives in Conover, who confirmed he had been in town.
McConnell then listed their vehicle on Craigslist in Conover and sold the car. Police were able to make contact with him and interview him Sunday night. They say he confessed to the crime at that time.
