MONROE, N.C. -- Monroe Police are investigating an attempted ATM theft.
On Monday, police responded to the Sweet Union Flea Market, following up on a report that someone had attempted to break into an ATM.
The owner of the company told authorities he believes the damage occurred sometime between last Wednesday and Monday morning.
Police say the back door of the ATM was badly bent, and one of the internal locks was damaged in the attempted break-in.
