MOORESVILLE, N.C. -- Authorities in Iredell County have arrested a man accused of raping a 14-year-old female family member and videotaping the sexual assault.

James Douglas Brown was arrested on Thursday by the Iredell County Sheriff's Office. Brown is charged with five counts of statutory rape, six counts of first-degree exploitation of a minor, and 31 counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor.

The investigation into Brown began when officials were notified of an alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old in 2010. A search warrant was executed upon Brown's residence, and authorities report finding evidence of child pornography involving the victim.

Brown's bond was set at $250,000.

Authorities say Brown has additional charges pending against him by the Statesville Police Department for alleged crimes against the victim that occurred in their jurisdiction.
