CLEVELAND COUNTY, N.C. – NASCAR driver, Joseph Michael Harmon, turned himself into authorities Monday afternoon after new charges were filed against him involving stolen race cars.
According to Cleveland County officials, Harmon turned himself in around 5:45 p.m. Monday.
Just hours prior, The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office issued two arrest warrants each for NASCAR driver Mike Harmon and business associate David Novak.
Both are charged with larceny after breaking and entering and felony breaking and entering.
The new charges are a result of the search warrants executed at a storage shed in Catawba County and Harmon's shop in Mooresville on May 28.
Officials said Harmon’s bond was set at $10,000 and was posted by a bondsman.
