CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a robbery at a NoDa church early Friday morning.

Police said a witness to the crime observed a suspect throwing musical equipment over a fence at the Bethel Worship Center off of E. 15th Street around midnight.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a broken window that was used to gain access to church. Police said around $4,000 worth of musical equipment was taken from the church.

This is the second church break-in this week.

The Mallard Creek Worship Center on Breezewood Drive in the University area was robbed last Sunday.

Police said thieves stole around $20,000 worth of musical instruments, microphones, TV’s and other items sometime after Sunday services.
