CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The man accused of shooting a CMPD officer has been put behind bars.
James Lewis appeared in federal court Friday afternoon to face charges for robbery.
He was released from the hospital Thursday night. Lewis has been hospitalized since Tuesday, when police say he exchanged gunfire with police. Lewis was wheeled into the courtroom with a cast on his left leg.
Lewis will likely face more charges in connection with the shooting of Officer Shane Page, who was serving a warrant at the time of the shooting.
