FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) -- Cumberland County deputies are investigating a threat of a shooting at Pine Forest High School.

Investigators said the threat was made Saturday on social media. Authorities say a boy appears to tell a girl that he loves her and won't shoot her when he shoots other students on Monday.

Officials say they have not decided what to do about school Monday, but will keep parents informed. A dance at Pine Forest High School was cancelled Saturday out of an abundance of caution.

Authorities say the threat was made on Edmodo, a site similar to Facebook that gives teachers more control over what is posted online.
