ALBEMARLE, N.C. -- A clerk’s quick thinking stopped an attempted robbery at an Albemarle convenience store, according to police.

A woman entered the Quik Check at 100 US 52 South around 8 p.m. Monday.

The clerk told police she threatened him with a gun and demanded cash. She ran when he activated the panic alarm.

Officers responded and arrested Angela Faith Roberson behind the store. She’s charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Roberson was booked into the Stanly County Jail under a $30,000 secured bond.

No one was hurt in the incident.
