ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. –Police believe three underage children were living inside an Alexander County home where two parents were arrested for allegedly making meth.
Deputies searched a home in the 100 block of Elaine Drive in Alexander County after receiving complaints about illegal activities at the house. When officers searched the home they found a suspected meth lab and arrested Conrad Laxton, 33, and Shannon Childers Laxton, 40.
Alexander County Chief Deputy Tod Jones said officers investigated this case for several months, and said the Laxton's three children were placed with family members.
Both were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A cleanup crew from Spartanburg, South Carolina came to the home to dismantle the suspected meth lab, the report states.
Both parents remain in the Alexander County Detention Center under separate $100,000 bonds.
