KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. -- The pastor of a Kings Mountain church has been arrested and charged with soliciting sex.
Dr. Clinton Feemster is pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He's also a faculty member at Gardner-Webb University.
According to a police report, Feemster was arrested last Friday after soliciting an undercover officer for sex in a public area off Old Dowd Road near Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
Officials at Gardner-Webb said they're aware of the charges and Feemster was placed on paid administrative leave Thursday.
Feemster has been at Gardner-Webb since May 2004. He was director of the Pittman Center for Congregational Enrichment and an assistant professor of religion.
Mt. Zion Baptist Church had no comment about the charge.
