Man, 70, critical after Pineville hit-and-run

PINEVILLE, N.C. -- Pineville Police have arreested a suspect in a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian that occurred late Monday night.

Between 10:30 and 11 Monday night, Pineville Police say 70-year-old Anthony Christopher Campisi was struck by a passing BMW in the 12600 block of Rock Hill-Pineville Road.

Police say the white, 2006-2011 model BMW 3 Series E90 didn't stop after striking Campisi.

The vehicle will have sustained front-end damage, as well as damage to the passenger-side mirror, police said. The images on this article are examples of like-model vehicles the police are looking for.

Campisi is currently in critical condition at Carolinas Medical Center.

Pineville Police notified NBC Charlotte around 5:20 that a suspect has been located. The name of the driver has not yet been released; authorities say a name will be released once charges have been formalized.
