CLOVER, S.C. -- York County authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that happened between brothers overnight in Clover.
Authorities were called to a shooting at a home off of S.C. Highway 557 around 1 a.m.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a 21-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. A 22-year-old brother of the victim was taken into custody shortly after the shooting.
Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, but say the pair involved are brothers who lived in the home with their father. The dad, police said, was out of town at the time of the incident.
The suspect called 911 after the shooting, and there were no other witnesses. Officials say the suspect hasn't been charged and detectives are investigating the shooting as either a homicide or self-defense.
This is the first homicide of the year in York County, according to authorities.
