CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police arrested a man in connection to a sexual assault that happened in 1996.

Investigators arrested Bryan Davis at Freeland Lane.  According to authorities, in 1996 the victim was walking along I-77 when Davis approached her in an aggressive manor.

The victim told police, she tried to get away, but Davis forcibly raped her and then ran from the scene.

According to Police, DNA evidence matched that of Davis’. He’s now charged with second degree felony rape by force.  His bond was set at $75,000 at the Mecklenburg County Jail.
