DENVER, N.C. -- A Denver couple faces criminal charges in connection with an alleged break-in at their home.
Scott and Rebecca Nazworth, both 27, told police they returned home from a trip to Memphis on Nov. 30 to find their house in the 190 block of Springwood Drive had been broken into.
Scott Nazworth told officers a safe containing booklets of coins was taken, along with two diamond rings and $150 in rolled change, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Police say he also reported a PlayStation, tool set and other property as stolen. Nazworth filed an insurance claim but later cancelled it.
Following an investigation, detectives say the reports were false and officers found the property in a closet at the home.
Both suspects have been taken into custody and released on bonds. Scott Nazworth is charged with insurance fraud, conspiracy and filing a false police report. Rebecca Nazworth is charged with conspiracy.
