CONCORD, N.C. -- Police are investigating an incident with an Elevation Church employee accused of bringing a gun to a school.

Garret Daniel Wyrick, 24, was arrested this weekend at Jay M. Robinson High School, according to the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office.

Police say they found a gun in Wyrick's bag. They were on scene for a church service at the school to search bags following a death threat against Elevation Church Pastor Steven Furtick, who was not present.

Investigators have not if said the incident involving Wyrick is related to the threat.

Wyrick is charged with bringing a gun onto school property, which is a felony. He bonded out of jail Monday.
