GASTONIA, N.C. -- A man suspected of pushing a woman out of a truck is wanted by Gastonia Police.

The incident happened around 10 a.m. Friday at the Quick Trip in the 300 block of East Long Avenue.

Police say 29-year-old Michael Reinhardt pushed the victim from his truck. As he drove away, the truck’s back tire rolled over the woman’s back.

The woman was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, but she may have broken bones.

Reinhardt is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

Cramerton Middle School within the Gaston County School District was placed on a perimeter lockdown through the end of the Friday school day. The exit doors were locked from the outside, but operations inside the school carried on as normal. The lockdown went into effect at 11:30 a.m. Students were dismissed for the afternoon as normal.
