LAKE WYLIE, S.C. -- York County Sheriff’s investigators say last June a man exposed himself to a woman in the parking lot of the Lake Wylie Wal-Mart off Route 49.
Then last Wednesday, investigators say he tried to do the same thing to another woman but she was suspicious and took off.
The first woman told investigators she was walking into the garden section of the Wal-Mart when a man approached her and told her something seemed to be wrong with her car.
She said she went back with the man who then asked her to move the car to the back of the lot so he could work on it.
As he was around behind the car, she said he exposed himself.
The second incident last week, happened at the Food Lion just across Route 49 from the Wal-Mart.
This time the man told a woman in the parking lot a similar story about a problem with her brakes, but she was suspicious and got in her vehicle and drove away.
Investigators have released video surveillance pictures of the suspect who is described as a black male 30 -45 years old with partially grey hair and scruffy facial hair. He is also said to have a chipped right front tooth.
Shoppers at the Food Lion who were hearing about the incidents for the first time, said they would not have had anything to do with a stranger if he approached them.
“I probably would be polite, say thank you, but get in my vehicle, take note of my surroundings, and lock the doors,” said Kristen Crepeau.
