MONROE, N.C. -- A Monroe man is facing a laundry list of charges after police say he nearly struck a police officer and damaged two police cruisers while attempting to flee from narcotics investigators.
On Tuesday evening, the Monroe Police Department's Narcotics and Violent Crimes unit conducted a drug investigation in the 1800 block of Morgan Mill Road.
While attempting to arrest 25-year-old Terrence Moser for the sale and delivery of a marijuana, police say Moser put his vehicle in reverse in an attempt to flee the scene.
During his attempted getaway in the parking lot, Moser struck two police cars and nearly hit an officer. He left the parking lot and crashed his vehicle a short distance later, officials say.
Moser is charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon on law enforcement, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, resisting an officer, three counts of leaving the scene of an accident, running a red light, left of center, careless and reckless driving and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for the sale of a controlled substance.
Moser was booked in to the Union County Jail under a $500,000 bond.
