PINEVILLE, N.C. -- Pineville Police say thieves made off with nearly $7,000 worth of jewelry in a heist Thursday evening.
Around 7:30 Monday, March 4, police say a man reached behind the counter at Carmel Jewelry inside Carolina Place Mall and snagged nearly $10,000 worth of adornments before fleeing, according to the store's owner.
Police said the man and a woman acted together in the robbery.
The woman entered the store first and distracted the clerk while the man reached over the counter and stole the jewelry, police said.
The man and woman communicated with one another by ear pieces they had attached to their cell phones, according to police.
If you have any information that may help authorities identify and apprehend the suspects, please call Pineville Police.
