STATESVILLE, N.C. -- Marijuana laced chocolate led to the arrests of a woman and two minors in Statesville, according to police.

Officers responded to Statesville High School Monday after reports of marijuana being sold inside of dark and white chocolate on the school campus. One high school student was arrested and charged.

The investigation also took officers to the middle school, where police say another student was charged for possession of marijuana of drug paraphernalia. According to police, they found they found some of the chocolate and the container carrying the drug.

Detectives were then led to a local home allegedly connected to the case. After executing a search warrant, officers say they found paraphernalia, as well as wrappers from the marijuana candy bars at Mary Blackwelder’s home.

Investigators say Blackwelder bought the items on a recent trip to California and then distributed them to minors in her house.

She was booked into the Iredell County Jail for several charges, including sale and delivery of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
