GASTONIA, N.C. -- A woman is accused of assaulting a man with her prosthetic leg after an argument over groceries on Sunday afternoon, according to Gastonia police.

A man told police that a woman came to his home off of Lakeview Street to confront him about groceries. After an argument, the woman punched the man in the face, then removed her prosthetic leg and started hitting him with it, according to the police report.

The man's cell phone and glasses were damaged during the incident, according to police.

The woman told police the victim had been harassing her over groceries and a trip they had made to the store.

Police said the woman was injured in the incident after witnesses pulled her away.  The police report stated that, "the woman's dialysis tube was pulled out of her neck during the fight and she was transported to Gaston Memorial Hospital."

Police did not release her condition.
