LANCASTER, S.C. -- Two people are charged in connection with the shooting death of 32-year-old Kevisis Emmannuel Anthony.

The Lancaster Police Department responded to reports of shots fired in the area of St. Paul and Pleasant Hill Streets on a Saturday night in late January to find no active scene.

A short time later, officers were notified of a gunshot victim arriving at the Springs Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.

Officials say Anthony, a Kershaw resident, was shot in the 9 p.m. hour on Saturday, January 26, in the 700 block of St. Paul Street.

Ketta Tomaka Evans, 34, of Lancaster, and 23-year-old David Jamarcus Stalk, of Lancaster, are both in custody charged in connection with the shooting death of Anthony.

Investigators say Anthony was the intended target of a robbery. Authorities say Evans knew Anthony, and lured him to her home under false pretenses. When Anthony arrived at the home, police say Stalk attempted to rob him with a handgun. Anthony tried to get away, but was subsequently fired upon. He was struck once in the back of the head.

Police say Stalk fled on foot and called 911 to report the shooting, while Evans and her son attempted to treat Anthony's injuries, but later transported him to the Springs Memorial Hospital ER in his vehicle.

Stalk is facing charges of murder, attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Evans is charged with murder and attempted armed robbery.

Both are held in the Lancaster County Detention Center; their bonds are currently being denied.
