CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police released the name of the man found dead in north Charlotte Thursday morning and say they believe he was murdered.
The body of 40-year-old Francisco Morales Sanchez was discovered near a building on Eastway Drive near North Tryon Street a little before 6 a.m.
When officers arrived on scene, they located Sanchez lying face down in the grassy area near a building.

Officials first ruled the incident a death investigation but are now saying Sanchez was murdered.
