MONROE, N.C. – Monroe Police are investigating a Saturday night stabbing.

The alleged assault happened around 10:30 p.m.  on Castle Road.  According to a police report, officers were responding to a disturbance. 

When they arrived on the scene, a vehicle starting blowing its horn and the driver pulled up beside the patrol car with Kentrell Hill, 34, inside.

Officials said Hill was in the passenger seat and that he’d been stabbed.

Authorities tell WCNC.com they arrested Clifford Lee Barrino, 44, who was still on the scene.  Barrino is now facing assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury.

His bond was set at $20,000.

It was not immediately clear Hill’s condition.
