COLUMBIA, S.C. -- An east Charlotte murder suspect was arrested Monday morning in Columbia, South Carolina, authorities said.
Arnold Jerad Thomas, 19, was arrested by S.C. officials without incident after police said he murdered 21-year-old Dantonio Gerrick Hamilton on Saturday.
Hamilton was shot Saturday morning at the Hampton Commons apartments on Lanecrest Avenue in east Charlotte.
Police said Thomas and Hamilton were known acquaintances and the murder was not a random act of violence. Thomas will be extradited back to Mecklenburg County.
