KANNAPOLIS, N.C -- Police in Kannapolis have identified a victim and a suspect involved in a officer shooting last Sunday.
Police say they were called to a shooting on Leazer Street around 2:30 a.m. When officers arrived they found Debra Tucker Dixon, 34, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police said they located the suspected gunman, Allen Lee Jenkins, a short time later on North Main Street.
An altercation occurred and Jenkins was shot by an officer. Both Dixon and Jenkins were taken to Carolinas Medical Center -- Northeast.
Dixon is listed in critical condition, and Jenkins is in stable condition.
The police officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
