FORT MILL, S.C. -- A burglary victim used a clever trick to find two men accused of stealing his building materials from a York County apartment complex.

Police responded to the victim’s call Friday evening at the Legacy Apartments on Gates Mills Drive.

The victim told police he hid a GPS in the building material. He was at home when he received a notification through his phone that the device was moving.

Police used the device’s location to track down the suspects to Shadow Lawn Court and Kilburn Lane in Fort Mill. Officers pulled over the two men in their pickup truck, which was allegedly carrying the eight stolen rolls of rain barrier and boxes of ridge vents. Police say they also found 30 additional bundles of roofing shingles, believed to be taken from a separate Fort Mill address different address.

Earnest Rolad, 46, and Jusheem Broadhead, 35, both face grand larceny charges.
