ROCK HILL, S.C. – Someone tried to blow up a Rock Hill man’s mailbox on New Year’s Eve, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.
The man said he left his home on Collins Road hours before New Year’s and returned to find materials from a homemade bomb.
“There were aluminum foil pieces scattered over the ground and in the mailbox. The plastic bottle had melted from the chemical reaction,” the report stated.
The homeowner said he saw a water bottle and black balls and added it’s not the first time something like this has happened.
There are no suspects at this time.
