BOONE, N.C. -- Almost nine months after a robber took pills at gunpoint from a Boone pharmacy, a man has been arrested for the crime.
Police began investigating the robbery at the Rite Aid on Shadowline Drive on January 2.
Investigators say the robber threatened the pharmacists with a gun and demanded the pills.
Detectives eventually used forensic evidence to connect 20-year-old Alan Cox to the crime.
Deputies with the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office say they tracked Cox down Wednesday hiding under a pile of clothes in a closet at a home on Knowles Haven Lane.
Cox has been placed under a $100,000 secured bond.
