IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. -- A Rockwell woman is facing identify theft charges after allegedly applying for credit cards in another person’s name.
The victim reported it to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at the end of April.
She told police she received two credit cards in the mail that she did not apply for. The suspect, Melissa Earnhardt, also contacted the victim telling her to watch her credit.
The credit card companies tracked down the IP address used to submit the applications. Police then arrested Earnhardt, 33, on Tuesday.
She was given a $2,000 secured bond.
